AWARDS
Honouring 100 Bishopians and Distinguished Contributors
As part of Bishop’s High School’s Centennial Celebration, we are proud to present the 100 Bishopian Centennial Awards.
These prestigious awards will recognize 100 deserving past
students (Bishopians) for their outstanding contributions to the school, the island of Tobago, the nation, and the world across all spheres of endeavor.
This is a major element of the celebration, honoring individuals for their application of the values learned at Bishop’s High School in service to family, community, country, and the world. The awards will be conferred at a special ceremony in September 2025.
Recognizing that the legacy of Bishop’s High School extends beyond its alumni, we will also present Ten (10) awards in a separate category for non-Bishopians who have made sterling contributions to the school in various ways over time. This acknowledges the vital role that others have played in the school’s 100-year history.
The Selection Process:
The selection of the 100 honorees and the 10 distinguished contributors is a diligent process overseen by an awards committee. It is important to understand that this is not a contest or a people’s choice award therefore multiple submissions of the same nominee are unnecessary.
The committee has developed guidelines for selecting honorees, considering
factors such as service to the institution, service to the island, country, region, and world, pioneering efforts, and long service.
Public Recommendations Welcome!
We invite the public to participate in this significant milestone by recommending individuals they believe are deserving of consideration for a Centennial Award. If you know a Bishopian or a non-Bishopian who has made significant contributions to Bishop’s High School or in their respective fields, we encourage you to submit their name for consideration.
