Dear Bishopian Family and Friends,
Our beloved institution, Bishop’s High School, Tobago, will be celebrating its 100th birthday in 2025, Sunday 14th September, 2025, to be exact.
Planning for this historic celebration has commenced. A Core Committee has been mandated by the BHS Board of Governors to plan and execute events to commemorate the occasion in a manner befitting the role the institution has played, not only in the lives of the people of Tobago, but indeed throughout the world.
The Committee comprises Zelma A. Cowie (Chairman); Claire Brathwaite-Alexander (Co-Chairman); Waltnel Sosa (Financial Manager); Roxanne Lyons-Wilson (Secretariat Head); as well as stakeholder representation inclusive of the church, school management, student council, PTA, alumni association and Board liaison, Allan Richards.
The yearlong celebration will be launched on Friday 13th September, 2024, the day before Founders’ Day, the school’s 99th birthday. It will feature a church service conducted by His Lordship, Claude Berkley, Bishop of Trinidad and Tobago, a procession of witness through the streets of Scarborough to the school, the unveiling of the Centennial website, the launch of the Calendar of Events and our inaugural media conference. These events will be streamed live.
The theme of our centennial observance is: “Honouring the past, celebrating the present, charting the future, by God’s grace”. We are inviting Bishopians wherever you are, to join hands across the diaspora and be part of the celebration of our school’s legacy of ‘empowering generations through education’.
Help us to build our databank by connecting with us using this form https://shorturl.at/A6Q4F. We urge you to share this message with your year group and to visit the Centennial Website to let us know how you can contribute your time, talent and treasure.
With every good wish to you and your families!
