Mission Statement

The primary objective of the BHS Centennial Committee is to commemorate the School’s hundredth anniversary by recognizing and celebrating its profound impact on education, sport, religion and the literary, visual and performing arts. We are dedicated to honouring the institution’s enduring legacy and its significant influence on the lives of the people of Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago and the world at large.

Vision

To inspire all persons, locally and globally, whose lives have been touched and transformed by Bishop’s High School, to honour the institution’s enduring legacy, celebrate its myriad accomplishments, and creatively shape its future for generations to come, by God’s grace.

Background

On January 16th 2023, the Board of Management of Bishop’s High School, headed by its Chairman, Rev. Fr. Wendell Bernard and chaired by Mr Allan Richards, Board Member, invited a number of persons, who they regard as the Core Committee, to a meeting. At this meeting the Board expressed its desire to celebrate the one hundredth anniversary of the School’s Founding in a manner befitting the role that the institution has played in the lives of the people of Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago and the world at large. From that time this Core Committee been engaging in discussions with our various stakeholders – staff, students, alumni, parents and at the Board level to determine the most appropriate ways to commemorate this significant milestone.

The Board of Management resolved itself into the Steering Committee for the purpose of the celebration of the school’s one hundredth anniversary. The board comprises stakeholder representation inclusive of the Church, School’s Management, Student Body, PTA, and Alumni Associations, the Core Committee, to a meeting. At this meeting the Board expressed its desire to celebrate the one hundredth anniversary of the School’s Founding in a manner befitting the role that the institution has played in the lives of the people of Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago and the world at large. From that time this Core Committee been engaging in discussions with our various stakeholders – staff, students, alumni, parents and at the Board level to determine the most appropriate ways to commemorate this significant milestone.
