Bishops High School, Tobago (BHS) is proudly celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2025. As a central part of this momentous occasion, we will be honoring 100 outstanding alumni Bishopians who have made significant contributions to their families, communities, country and the world. To commemorate this prestigious recognition, we are launching an exciting design competition open exclusively to talented graphic artists who are alumni of Bishops High School.
We invite our creative alumni to contribute to the school’s legacy by designing a wearable token (which could be a medal, device, or another form) that will be presented to these distinguished honorees at a special gala ceremony in September 2025. This is a unique opportunity to leave a lasting mark on the centennial celebrations and create a meaningful symbol of excellence.
Eligibility:
This competition is open to all past students (alumni) of Bishop’s High School with skills and experience in graphic design
The Design Process:
The competition will follow standard design competition protocols. Here are some important points to note:
- The Centennial Awards Committee will oversee the competition and reserves the right to select any design, including one that may not be chosen as the winner.
- Finalist designers may be asked to collaborate and combine elements from different submissions to create the final design.
- The winner of the design competition will receive a token cash prize, and a separate negotiation will occur for the payment of the final design chosen for the Centennial Awards.
What We Are Looking For:
Your design should be inspired by:
- The 100th Anniversary of Bishops High School Tobago.
- The achievements and service of 100 outstanding Bishopians.
- The honorees’ contributions to their family, community, country and the world, reflecting the core values of BHS.
- The concept of a wearable item suitable for a formal awards ceremony.
- Originality and creativity.
- The optional incorporation of existing school insignias and the school motto.
How the Competition Works:
- This is a juried competition, not a public vote or popularity contest.
- Submissions will be evaluated by a distinguished six-person panel.
- A token cash prize will be awarded to the artist whose design is selected as the winner of the competition.
- A separate agreement and payment for the final design chosen for production will be negotiated with the winning artist.
- The committee reserves the right to select any submitted design, even if it was not the initial winner.
- The committee may also ask finalists to combine elements from different designs, with appropriate credit.
